• 1 pastry shell, cooked
• 1 cup mashed strawberries
• ¾ cup water
• ¾ cup sugar
• 3 Tbsp cornstarch
• 1 Tbsp lemon juice
• ¼ tsp salt
• 4 cups sliced strawberries

Combine mashed strawberries and water in saucepan; bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes.

Strain juice from cooked strawberries and add enough water to make 1 cup juice. Discard pulp.

Combine sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice and salt in a saucepan; stir strawberry juice into sugar mixture.

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until clear and thick ( 3 to 5 minutes). Remove from heat and cool. Stir strawberries into strawberry mix. Pour into pie shell

Put whipped cream on top right before you serve.
